Sunscreen, aspirin, hats, rain ponchos, film, disposable cameras, and other sundries are available in the Safari Village at the top of the escalators when you enter the park. A portion of the profits from gift shop sales and rentals are used by the Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium to help support its mission of education and conservation.



Wagons & Wheelchairs
Wagons, safari jeeps, and adult strollers can be rented at Safari Wheels from April through October. From November through March, they can be rented at the Safari Gift Shop.

Wagons: $8 per day
Safari Jeeps: $8 per day
Adult Strollers/Wheelchairs: No Cost

Scooter Rentals
If you would like to rent a battery-operated scooter, call Pittsburgh Wheelchair Exchange at 412-241-5121. They'll deliver the scooter to you at the Zoo and pick it up after your visit is complete. Pittsburgh Wheelchair Exchange is a private company and not affiliated with the Zoo. You can learn more about the Pittsburgh Wheelchair Exchange at http://www.pittsburghwheelchairexchange.com/.



UPMC Health Plan Tram

UPMC Health Plan Tram rides are available daily from Memorial Day through Labor Day, and weekends only in April, May, and September.

The UPMC Health Plan Tram provides a covered ride through the Zoo with stops at eight different locations. Simply purchase a tram wristband and you can board or disembark as many times as you wish during the day. You can explore at your own pace, then proceed on the UPMC Health Plan Tram to your next adventure. There are tram stops at each well-marked location approximately every 20 minutes. The UPMC Health Plan Tram is for your convenience in navigating the Zoo, and is not a guided tour.

Daily Cost
$1 for Senior Citizens ages 60+ and guests with disabilities
$2 for all other riders

Tram wristbands may be purchased at Safari Wheels or from the Tram operator

Tram Rental
Available weekdays June through September (weather and availability permitting) with exclusive rental for a minimum of three hours at $25 per hour. Please request your tram at least three weeks in advance.

First Commonwealth Bank Zoo Keys

Unlock A Learning Adventure
First Commonwealth Bank Zoo Keys are available for $2 at the admission gates and at all Zoo gift shops. Zoo Keys unlock learning experiences at 24 locations within the Zoo. Just put your key into the box at each exhibit and enjoy entertaining songs and interesting animal facts.

Rides

Carousel
Recently refurbished, the Zoo Carousel has delighted children and adults alike for generations, with a menagerie of zoo-themed horses and wonderful music.

Kids Kingdom Log Ride
Children who are under 50-inches tall can go on the Log Ride in Kids Kingdom. The Log Ride floats around a large pond where ducks, fish, and turtles have made their home.

Carousel and Log Ride operate Memorial Day through Labor day (weather permitting).
